While the Squarespace drag-and-drop editor makes designing great looking webpages pretty much faster than any other platform on the market, I’m a big fan of working smarter, not harder. What if there was a way to save even more time? Well…. there is, and they’re called Squarespace Shortcuts. Today I’m going to list my absolute favorites and hopefully you’ll find them as useful as I do.
Click ESC To Login Quickly To Login To Your Squarespace Admin Panel
Did you know there was shortcuts before you reached your admin panel? Well, there is. Imagine you just happen to be browsing your live website and see something you want to edit on the fly? No problem, it’s easy.
How To
When on any page on your live website, just hit the ESC key on your keyboard. You will need to be logged in already but it works pretty flawlessly!
Note: If your website was created (even as a demo) after Sept 1st, 2020, this setting is disabled by default, but you can turn it on yourself in your settings.

Return To Main Menu With Just Two Quick Clicks
Sometimes you can get yourself seven layers deep into your menus and getting back to the start can be tiresome, especially if have to keep doing it. What if I told you could do it in just two single clicks? Yeah, it’s easy.
How To
Just quickly double click the back arrow next to your current location and instead of going back one menu, you’ll return to the start.
Use Your Search Panel to move around quickly.
There’s a ton of menu options in the Squarespace admin area. It can be incredibly difficult to remember where everything is located but you actually don’t need to. Looking for something buried deep? Just search for it.
How To Use The Squarespace Admin Area Search Shortcut
Anywhere in the admin area just press the foward slash key / to make the search window popup.

Move Blog Posts, Products, or Gallery Items with just a few clicks.
If you have multiple blogs product pages, or galleries you may want to move items between categories. Moving one at a time could be tiresome. Why not move multiple?
How To Move Multiple Squarespace Items At Once
Just hold down the shift key and click on a single post. Then either click Select All to choose all of the posts or click Move to move the post elsewhere. This works for blog posts, products, or images in your gallery.
Quickly add a text link while you’re typing text.
If you’re writing a blog post (or text anywhere else) just select a word (or more) worth of text and press CMD and K to automatically bring up the link dialog where you can make an internal or external link.
